First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to share Just a little bit about me and how, as a result of me experiencing some of life’s difficulties myself, personally. How this ultimately has benefited my life since.
Therefore; my hope is, by me sharing my personal experiences with you, maybe you could benefit in the same way I did too.
First of all, I have experienced my own fair share of difficulties. Important for me to be able to understand yours fully too!
I’v experienced two divorces. The ultimate loss of my family, my children, my home, my friends and my career.
I lost them all – So as a result, I understand how those losses actually ‘Feel’
I have experienced first hand what fear, anxiety, stress, depression, anger, resentment, guilt, low self-esteem, anger, frustration and many more emotions actually ‘Feel’ like.
In addition to my past emotional problems. I have also experienced physical difficulties too. Heart attacks, major chronic illness, and life-threatening operations.
Especially relevant for you here is…
I have lived through them all. Hence, the fact I’m here talking to you now.
I not only survived these events, but thrived.
Furthermore, I’m here to tell the tale.
The Difficulties to overcome in Counselling.
Throughout my most difficult periods, I learnt a lot about me. I learned just how I function as a person. Yet by me having these so-called horrid experiences, and rather than this defeating me. It seems like this has actually helped me to reach a much greater level of peace and awareness. As a result of these experiences and since I have been able to live a much more mindful existence. Finally dwelling in a much more peaceful, tranquil place. A place I never dreamt was possible back then in my times of trouble and worry.
Consequently, by knowing first hand what these emotions actually “feel” like, and not having just read about them in a book about “How to deal with Life’s difficulties”
As a result of having experienced these difficulties, finally, I am able to appreciate life for what it is! Something to be experienced right now and not tomorrow or yesterday.
Life is very much a “Here and Now” Experience. Tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet and yesterday is just a memory in the mind.
You could say this page isn’t about me, it’s about you, and how you may benefit from Counselling. How you can Learn new skills to help you cope with your own challenges.
It’s about me having had a direct experience of some of the difficulties that you’re facing, rather than just an intellectual knowledge of the difficulties. Furthermore, I believe this is vital for reaching a deeper level of understanding so that I can help you at a deeper level.
I hope the above information about me gives you some sense or reassurance that I am capable of understanding you, and just where you’re coming from.
If you get the feeling that no one will properly understand you – I can assure you …. I will!
