First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to share Just a little bit about me and how, as a result of me experiencing some of life’s difficulties myself, personally. How this ultimately has benefited my life since.
Therefore; my hope is, by me sharing my personal experiences with you, maybe you could benefit in the same way I did too.
First of all, I have experienced my own fair share of difficulties.
Two divorces. The ultimate loss of my family, my children, my home, my friends and my career.
I lost them all – So as a result, I understand how that actually ‘Feels’
I have experienced first hand what fear, anxiety, stress, depression, anger, resentment, guilt, low self-esteem, anger, frustration and many more emotions actually ‘Feel’ like.
In addition to my past emotional problems. I have also experienced physical difficulties too. Heart attacks, major chronic illness, and life-threatening operations.
Especially relevant for you here is…
I have lived through them all. Hence, the fact I’m here now talking to you.
I not only survived but thrived and furthermore, I’m here to tell the tale.
The Difficulties to overcome in Counselling.
Throughout my most difficult periods, I learnt a lot about me. Furthermore, I learned just how I function as a person. Yet by me having these so-called horrid experiences, and rather than this defeating me. It seems like this has actually helped me to reach a much greater level of peace and awareness. As a result of these experiences and since I have been able to live a much more mindful existence. Finally dwelling in a much more peaceful, tranquil place. A place I never dreamt was possible back then in my times of trouble and worry.
Consequently, by knowing first hand what these emotions actually “feel” like, and not having just read about them in a book about “How to deal with Life’s difficulties”
As a result of having experienced these difficulties, finally, I am able to appreciate life for what it is! Something to be experienced right now and not tomorrow or yesterday.
Life is very much a “Here and Now” Experience. Tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet and yesterday is just a memory in the mind.
You could say this about me page isn’t about me, it’s about you!
It’s about me having had a direct experience of some of the difficulties that you’re facing, rather than just an intellectual knowledge of the difficulties. Furthermore, I believe this is vital for reaching a deeper level of understanding so that I can help you at a deeper level.
I hope the above information about me gives you some sense or reassurance that I am capable of understanding you, and just where you’re coming from.
If you get the feeling that no one will properly understand you – I can assure you …. I will!
We all of us arrive at difficult points in our lives where we may feel that we need help with our difficulties. The fact that you’re here is, you have taken the first step towards doing something about it, by seeking professional help!
Also, and as a result of my problems, and because of them. I am now passionate about helping others and Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I feel it’s what I was born to do. That is to serve you, and aid you to live a more peaceful, happy life, that is free from stress, anxiety and depression.
As a counsellor in Stoke-on-Trent and in conclusion; By me experiencing some of the above problems. This has given me an excellent grounding for helping, not only myself but others also.
